How did Kimble Applications come about?
Kimble Applications was founded in 2010, by a group of entrepreneurs with a background in the consulting industry, including inside Oracle and other product companies. Since then, it has become a multi-national business with several offices around the United States and in Europe, and customers all around the world.
What is professional services automation (PSA)?
A PSA system allows people in different departments in a services organization to agree on a common set of operational data about sales, projects, and bills. This is the basis for accurate forecasting, proactive resourcing and sharing accurate information with customers.
How is Kimble different from other providers of PSA software?
Kimble only does PSA – all of our energy goes into making customers successful with PSA. Kimble is native to the Salesforce platform. Some vendors offer PSA only as part of a larger suite or offer only individual tools rather than a full PSA solution.
What kind of organizations use Kimble PSA?
Kimble is used by services organizations in a variety of sectors such as: management consulting, IT services, advertising, media and marketing, legal, accounting, manufacturing, high tech, and architecture, engineering and construction. Can you handle managed services/call-off in Kimble?
Yes, you can use Kimble’s Framework Assignment functionality to configure an agreed-upon timebank and then create Drawdown Assignments that will automatically draw down effort from the parent assignment. If you are using Kimble Customer Community, your customers can create Service Requests that will automatically create Drawdown Assignments in Kimble that match the Request.
In addition, Kimble provides a number of mechanisms, such as Caps and Purchase Orders, to ensure that contractual agreements are enforced during operational processing and when recognizing revenue.
What do you use a sandbox for?
A sandbox environment would be used to replicate the production environment upon request. This would offer the chance to test new versions of the application, prior to use in the actual production environment. These can contain a full set of production data and be refreshed on a regular basis.
How is Kimble priced?
The cost varies on a case-by-case basis. There is an implementation fee and a per-user licensing cost.
How do we know that our data is safe in Kimble?
As part of the Salesforce platform, we use the same extensive security tools that they do. Security access can also be set down to the field level. This allows you to set what information is individually available on an account.
Has Kimble undergone a Force.com security review?
Yes, the application has undergone a security review as part of listing on the AppExchange. Applications cannot be listed unless they have been reviewed.
What support does Kimble provide for GDPR?
Yes, Kimble is compliant with GDPR, including support for subject access request, “right to be forgotten”, and consent. Read more about our approach.
