- Avoiding burned-out resources
- Avoiding project delays
- Avoiding short-sighted decisions
- Exploiting advantages
Professional services leaders often find themselves caught in familiar traps – facing showstopping skills gaps, burned-out resources, unexpected project delays, and erratic performance against projections. The operative question shouldn’t be how to overcome these challenges; it should be how can these challenges be prevented.
Kimble Applications co-founder Mark Robinson and Charles Gustine, Kimble’s Head of Product Marketing, did what most of us have been doing over the past year – bingeing shows on Netflix – and in The Queen’s Gambit, they found a framework that can help PS leaders avoid short-sighted decisions and get better at playing the long-game. And that framework is hundreds of years old.
Chess has exploded in popularity, and for good reason. When played well, it is all about strategy, planning, vision, and a balance between aggressive and defensive maneuvering. In this webinar, Mark and Charles will hop on the chess bandwagon and outline the moves PS decision-makers can use to avoid traps and exploit advantages like a grandmaster.
Co Founder | Kimble
Mark is a thought leader in the services industry, a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience. A co-founder of Kimble Applications in 2010, he has spent a great deal of time over the last decade advising the leaders of hundreds of services businesses and focusing on the challenges they face in a competitive industry.
Having begun his career as a management consultant, Mark went to work for Oracle Corporation in the early 90s and witnessed first-hand their rise from start-up to software giant. In 1997, with no external investment, Mark founded Fulcrum Solutions and in just under three years it reached 200 staff, with offices in Edinburgh, Manchester, London, and New York.
Following the successful sale of Fulcrum, Mark co-founded a second consulting business, Edenbrook, this time with external investment. At the time of its acquisition in 2009 by Hitachi, Edenbrook had reached over 500 people based in the UK and India.
