Kimble Connect Boston 2019

We had a very full and productive two days at Kimble’s second US-wide gathering of customers and partners, Kimble Connect Boston 2019. Getting the most out of PSA is about people and processes as well as understanding the technology, and that is why it is so important to bring customers and members of the various Kimble teams together, to explore issues and discuss ideas.

Kimble Connect Boston More Than Doubles in Size

Day one of this twice-yearly event was a conference. This was attended by more than double the number of delegates as last year, and by representatives from Kimble’s development, customer success, business development, technical support and product teams.

Both customers and Kimble representatives enjoyed getting to meet people they are used to working with remotely. Customers also found it rewarding to get a chance to find out how other similar organizations are using Kimble, with users sharing tips based on their daily experience.

One popular session was an open debate session on “Keeping Forecasts Current and Accurate.” A discussion at each table was facilitated by Kimble representatives, and key points from each group were shared with the whole room at the end. It was informative to compare some of the challenges people face and explore different approaches to overcoming them.

Product Development Lead Mark Smith delivered two talks, the first on the enhancements introduced in Kimble’s Summer 19 release, and another looking ahead at the future of the product – demonstrating how responsive the Kimble development team is to customer enhancement requests.

Other sessions focused on customizing invoices, customer community portals, fostering consultant adoption, and a look at how to ensure your organization is getting the most out of Kimble’s new functionality. The conference day ended with a networking drinks reception, also at the Metro Meeting Center in Boston’s Finance District.

More than half of the conference-goers attended an advanced reporting and analytics training the following day at Kimble’s Boston headquarters, overlooking Boston Harbor. The training focused on finance and utilization, exploring best practice in setup and reporting.

Feedback from both days was extremely positive. Several people said afterwards that they felt they were heading back to their organizations armed with the knowledge and understanding they need to get more out of Kimble, and to use new functionality to run their businesses more efficiently.

I’m looking forward to meeting and connecting with customers from across the UK and Europe at our next Kimble Connect, which takes place today, June 20th, at the M by Montcalm hotel in Shoreditch in central London. Keep your eye out for the next US-based Kimble Connect, which will occur towards the end of the year.
