I’m passionate about engaging with people who want to build innovative things. What do I love about running a fast-growth company? Seeing how our team grows and responds to tackling complex problems.
How much of the time do you wish you weren’t?
Never – running a company and working with great people is extremely fun!
What are the hardest things about it?
Knowing when to take the next step. Growth is challenging, especially growth in greenfield markets.
Tell us about a favorite nugget of wisdom from a mentor
“To whom much has been given, much is expected.” We have all been given a toolbox of skills. Make the most of the skills that you’ve been given.
What’s your greatest business achievement?
Here’s one of my favorites: A few years ago I challenged our entire team to set personal goals for the upcoming year. Many had never set goals and committed them to paper, so I was met with both optimism and challenge. I pushed the team to try it and we each shared our personal goals for the upcoming year. We checked in quarterly on our goals and by the end of that year almost everyone who set a personal goal for themselves had achieved it.
Who would you like to be stuck in a lift with?
I would like to say thanks to Bill Gates for creating an industry. Plus, he would be interesting to talk to. The work Bill Gates is doing to solve global health challenges demonstrates his leadership and vision.
Where is the consulting industry heading?
I see the consulting industry changing in a similar way to what we’ve seen happen with software over the past 10 years. Companies like ours are able to compete at the highest levels, where that was not possible 10 years ago.
